About SoftMaji InfoTech

SoftMaji InfoTech Private Limited is an IT company based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

We work on web development, software development, mobile applications, digital marketing and SaaS products.

We develop software products that help businesses, schools, institutions and other organizations manage their daily operations.

We are looking for a SaaS Sales Executive who can understand our software products, speak with potential customers, demonstrate the products and convert interested prospects into paying customers.

About the Role

As a SaaS Sales Executive, you will be responsible for selling our software products on a subscription or recurring-payment basis.

Your work will start from finding or receiving a potential customer and continue through product explanation, requirement understanding, product demonstration, follow-up, negotiation and closing.

You will also work with existing customers for renewals, upgrades and additional services where applicable.

You do not need to be a developer.

You should, however, be comfortable using software and learning how our products work.

The ability to explain software in simple language is very important for this role.

What Is SaaS?

SaaS means Software as a Service.

Instead of a customer buying and installing traditional software, the customer uses software provided online and usually pays a monthly or yearly subscription.

As a SaaS Sales Executive, your job is to help customers understand the product, decide whether it fits their requirements and purchase the appropriate plan.

Your Main Responsibilities

1. Find Potential Customers

  • Identify businesses and organizations that may need our SaaS products.
  • Research potential customers and their requirements.
  • Generate leads through phone calls, WhatsApp, email and other approved channels.
  • Work on leads provided by the company.
  • Follow up with existing and old leads.
  • Build your own prospect list.
  • Identify decision-makers within organizations.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline.

2. Understand Customer Requirements

Before recommending a product or plan, you should understand what the customer actually needs.

You will:

  • Ask questions about the customer’s current process.
  • Understand the problems they are facing.
  • Identify the number of users or customers they manage.
  • Understand their current software or manual process.
  • Identify important features they require.
  • Understand their budget and expected timeline.
  • Identify who makes the final purchasing decision.
  • Match the customer’s requirements with the right product.

The objective is not simply to sell a plan. It is to understand whether the product is actually suitable for the customer.

3. Explain Our SaaS Products

You will learn our products in detail and explain them to customers.

This may include:

  • Product features
  • Subscription plans
  • Pricing
  • User limits
  • Available modules
  • Account setup
  • Mobile application features
  • Web application features
  • Reports
  • Integrations
  • Support options
  • Renewal terms
  • Additional services

You should be able to explain these things without using unnecessary technical language.

4. Conduct Product Demonstrations

Product demonstrations are an important part of this role.

You may conduct demos through:

  • Phone calls
  • Online meetings
  • Screen sharing
  • In-person meetings when required

During a demo, you should:

  • Understand what the customer wants to see.
  • Demonstrate relevant features.
  • Explain how the software can fit into their daily work.
  • Answer basic questions.
  • Avoid showing unnecessary features that are not relevant to the customer.
  • Explain the appropriate plan after the demonstration.

5. Handle SaaS Sales Conversations

You will speak with potential customers at different stages of the sales process.

This includes:

  • New enquiries
  • Interested prospects
  • Demo requests
  • Trial users
  • Price enquiries
  • Customers comparing products
  • Customers waiting for approval
  • Customers who previously declined
  • Existing customers considering upgrades

You should maintain professional communication throughout the process.

6. Follow Up With Prospects

Follow-up is a major part of SaaS sales.

You will:

  • Follow up after product demos.
  • Follow up after sending pricing information.
  • Check whether the customer has additional questions.
  • Understand what is delaying the decision.
  • Schedule another demo when required.
  • Follow up with decision-makers.
  • Maintain follow-up dates in the CRM.
  • Continue following up until the opportunity is closed, postponed or lost.

Good follow-up should be useful and professional, not repeated unnecessary messages.

7. Handle Customer Questions and Objections

Customers may have questions such as:

  • Why should I choose this product?
  • What is included in the plan?
  • Can I add more users?
  • Is there a mobile application?
  • Can I get a demo?
  • Can I migrate my existing data?
  • What happens after the subscription expires?
  • Is technical support included?
  • Can I upgrade later?
  • Can I cancel or change my plan?
  • Why is your product priced differently from another product?

You should be able to answer questions related to the product and coordinate with the appropriate internal team when a question requires technical assistance.

8. Convert Leads Into Customers

Your responsibility does not end at generating a lead.

You will work towards converting qualified prospects into paying customers.

This includes:

  • Understanding the customer’s buying stage.
  • Presenting the appropriate plan.
  • Handling objections.
  • Discussing pricing within approved company guidelines.
  • Negotiating where permitted.

  • Additional services

You should be able to explain the difference between plans clearly.

10. Renewals and Existing Customers

SaaS sales does not end after the first payment.

Depending on the assigned responsibilities, you may also work with existing customers.

This can include:

  • Renewal reminders
  • Plan upgrades
  • Additional users
  • Additional modules
  • Add-on services
  • Customer feedback
  • Identifying expansion opportunities
  • Coordinating with the support team when required

11. CRM Management

Every customer interaction should be recorded properly.

You will maintain:

  • Customer name
  • Company name
  • Contact information
  • Lead source
  • Requirement
  • Current status
  • Demo date
  • Follow-up date
  • Plan discussed
  • Expected purchase date
