About SoftMaji InfoTech

SoftMaji InfoTech Private Limited is an IT company based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

We develop software products and provide technology services including SaaS products, web development, mobile applications and digital solutions.

We are looking for a SaaS Product Specialist who can understand our products at a deeper level and act as a bridge between customers, sales, customer success and the technical/product development teams.

This position is suitable for someone who enjoys both software products and customer communication.

About the Role

The Product Specialist should know the product better than a normal sales or support executive.

You should understand:

  • What the product does.
  • How the product works.
  • Who should use each feature.
  • Which plan is suitable for different customers.
  • What the limitations are.
  • What common questions customers have.
  • What customers are requesting.
  • Which problems require technical intervention.
  • Which requirements may need product changes.

You will use this knowledge to help sales teams, customers, customer success teams and developers.

Main Responsibility

Your core responsibility is to become a strong product expert and make sure the right product information reaches the right person.

You may work across:

Product → Sales → Customer → Support → Development

Your Main Responsibilities

1. Deep Product Knowledge

You will learn our SaaS products in detail.

This includes:

  • Features
  • Modules
  • User roles
  • Permissions
  • Workflows
  • Settings
  • Reports
  • Subscription plans
  • Pricing
  • Integrations
  • Mobile application
  • Web application
  • Account setup
  • Limitations
  • Common issues
  • Product roadmap where applicable

You should be able to answer detailed product questions accurately.

2. Advanced Product Demonstrations

You will conduct detailed product demonstrations for potential customers.

Unlike a basic sales demo, you may handle customers who have specific or complicated requirements.

You will:

  • Understand the customer’s workflow.
  • Identify relevant product features.
  • Build a demo around their requirements.
  • Explain how the product can fit their process.
  • Demonstrate advanced features.
  • Answer detailed questions.
  • Explain product limitations honestly.
  • Coordinate with technical teams when required.

3. Support the Sales Team

Sales executives may not know every product detail.

You will support them when a prospect asks a detailed question.

For example:

  • Can the product handle a particular workflow?
  • Can multiple user roles be configured?
  • Is a particular report available?
  • Can existing data be imported?
  • Does the mobile application support a specific feature?
  • Can the product integrate with another system?
  • Can a particular customization be provided?

You will provide the correct answer or involve the appropriate technical team.

4. Understand Customer Requirements

You will speak with customers and understand their requirements in detail.

You should identify:

  • Current workflow
  • Existing software
  • Problems
  • Required features
  • Number of users
  • Business process
  • Reporting requirements
  • Integration requirements
  • Data requirements
  • Implementation requirements
  • Customization requirements

You should be able to convert a customer’s general statement into a clear product requirement.

5. Requirement Documentation

When a customer requests something that is not currently available, you will document it properly.

A requirement document may include:

  • Customer requirement
  • Current workflow
  • Desired workflow
  • Reason for requirement
  • Users affected
  • Priority
  • Existing product capability
  • Proposed solution
  • Additional information
  • Screenshots or examples

This helps developers and product teams understand what the customer actually needs.

6. Coordinate With Development

You will work with developers when a requirement requires technical evaluation.

You may:

  • Explain customer requirements.
  • Discuss product behaviour.
  • Clarify expected functionality.
  • Answer developer questions.
  • Review proposed solutions.
  • Test new functionality.
  • Confirm whether the requirement has been addressed.

You do not need to be the developer.

However, you should understand enough about software to communicate effectively with developers.

7. Product Testing

You may participate in product testing before new features are released.

This can include:

  • Checking new features.
  • Testing existing workflows.
  • Testing different user roles.
  • Testing permissions.
  • Checking reports.
  • Testing mobile and web functionality.
  • Checking edge cases.
  • Verifying customer-specific requirements.

You should report problems clearly before the feature reaches customers.

8. Customer Training

You may provide advanced product training to customers.

Training may cover:

  • Product setup
  • Advanced features
  • User management
  • Reports
  • Workflows
  • Best practices
  • New features
  • Advanced configuration

You should be able to adjust the training based on the customer’s level of knowledge.

9. Product Documentation

You may help create and maintain:

  • Product guides
  • Feature documentation
  • FAQs
  • Demo guides
  • Internal sales documentation
  • Training material
  • Feature comparison documents
  • Product update notes

The information should be easy for sales and customers to understand.

10. Product Feedback

You will collect useful information from customers and sales teams.

This may include:

  • Frequently requested features
  • Difficult workflows
  • Missing functionality
  • Customer complaints
  • Common questions
  • Competitor features
  • Product usability issues

You will organize this information and share it with the appropriate product or management team.

11. Help Prioritize Requirements

Not every customer request should automatically become a product feature.

You may help the team understand:

  • How many customers need the feature.
  • Why the feature is needed.
  • Whether it affects existing workflows.
  • Whether a workaround already exists.
  • Whether it is important for a particular customer.
  • Whether it could benefit multiple customers.

Final product decisions will remain with the relevant management/product team.

12. Competitive Product Understanding

You may research competing software products to understand:

  • Their features
  • Pricing models
  • Product positioning
  • Common workflows
  • Customer expectations

The objective is to understand the market and help the company improve product communication and positioning.

13. Support Customer Success

You will work with the Customer Success team when customers need:

  • Advanced product training
  • Feature clarification
  • Product configuration guidance
  • Advanced demonstrations
  • Help understanding product capabilities

14. Support Customer Retention

A customer may consider leaving because they do not understand how to use an important feature or believe the product cannot meet their requirement.

You may help by:
